Crystal Maze is an adventure game in which you control a young female explorer through a number of levels to collect a number of gems. The game is easy to play and master and can make for a casual waste of time.
A decent game with no particular difficulty to it
Crystal Maze is an ok game and just that. it won’t impress with gameplay mechanics, puzzles or any other kind of special things. The goal of each level is to collect all the precious stones that are scattered everywhere around the map and once that’s done, you can advance to the next stage.
Along with the gems, there are a number of roman soldiers, wandering around, protecting the valuables so you’ll need to avoid them. Apart from that, you also get some powerups that can grant your character a burst of speed, they can slow down the soldiers or you can just get some bonus points.
It lacks any kind of charm but it’s relaxing
Even after five or six levels behind, Crystal Maze doesn’t really seem to be putting up much of a fight. It’s an easy game, a bit too easy and that can be a bad thing since most players or gamers enjoy a tough game now and again, or at least a bit of a challenge.
In Crystal Maze the soldiers are rather easy to run away from, they don’t seem to have any kind of chase-AI so most of the time you’ll just be casually strolling around, stealing gems.
Something you play when you just want to pass the time
Crystal Maze will not be an experience, good or bad. It’s a game that’s built to be just a game. Levels are easy to pass, controls are ok, the graphics are decent but it just doesn’t sparkle, it’s not really something you’ll remember and smile about.
